Stellar Labs’ Gary Waldman to Give Keynote Address on Revenue Management at SONO Schedulers & Dispatchers

PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA, MARCH 29, 2016 – Stellar Labs (“Stellar”), the first complete digital marketplace for private aviation, today announced that Gary Waldman will deliver the keynote address at this spring’s Southern and Northern California (SONO) Regional Schedulers and Dispatchers meeting. His talk will discuss revenue management and its applicability to private aviation to boost revenues and profitability. The event will be held in Scottsdale, AZ on March 31 and is expected to attract over 200 aviation professionals.

Revenue management (RM) is the use of data analysis and customer/product segmentation to maximize revenue. RM is particularly useful in industries with perishable inventory such as private aviation.

The implementation of revenue management practices has changed most travel industries. With Stellar, the opportunity exists to bring these practices to business aviation. Stellar allows Part 135 operators to analyze their revenue streams in detail with advanced analytics, enabling the implementation of market-driven RM and pricing policies. The system is designed to handle a wide array of pricing and policy applicability rules at scale while producing schedule-dependent pricing in a few seconds.

Mr. Waldman is VP of Revenue Management for Stellar Labs and is responsible for designing the platform that will provide operators with the capability to develop and deploy commercial strategies that are practically impossible to execute with today’s systems. He graduated from MIT with two degrees in aeronautical engineering and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. With 20+ years of experience in commercial airlines and business aviation, e-commerce, revenue management, finance, and strategy; he is one of the country’s foremost experts on revenue management for private aviation.

“From airlines to theme parks, the tools of revenue management have been successfully applied across a broad range of industries and are for the first time becoming available to Part 135 operators with Stellar,” said Mr. Waldman. “The potential this technology represents to private aviation is immense, from increasing utilization and profitability to facilitating the emergence of all kinds of business, partnership, and distribution models.”

Founded in 1999 as a regional Schedulers and Dispatchers division of the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), SONO is committed to providing an educational forum for aviation professionals in the Southern and Northern California region. The group meets semiannually at a hosted dinner meeting. SONO strives to present information at these events to enhance the S&D community and help navigate the rapidly changing aviation market.
